Unlocking the Future by Honoring the Past: A Transformational Encounter at the Airport
A couple of days ago in the airport, I had a mind-blowing experience.
A young man sat next to me as I was watching a video about the benefits of breathwork.
He sat very close, annoyingly close. There were tons of other seats in the airport… hadn’t this guy heard of personal space?
A few minutes passed, and he tapped me on the shoulder, “sorry to interrupt, but I couldn’t help but notice the video you were watching. Are you into breathwork?”
His warm demeanor quickly melted my standoffishness and we quickly got into a conversation about healing and spiritual development.
After a while of talking, he confessed that he heard a guardian angel tell him to come sit near me and asked if I was open to an energy reading.
The next 30 minutes were a blur of channeled messages, tears, and watching this man in awe as he received messages on the other side for me.
He communicated many things to me, but the message that stuck with me the most was the importance of honoring my ancestors. He said that honoring the women on my mother’s side of the family and connecting with them was critical for my healing. He recommended burying a necklace belonging to my Grandmother in the dirt as a devotional act.
He told me that when honoring my female ancestry, it was important to focus on their wombs and their hearts, rather than their personalities. He told me that loving and healing my female ancestry was part of my purpose here on Earth. And he told me that honoring my female ancestry would help me break through to the next level in my life.
He kept seeing a keyhole… the message being that honoring my ancestors was the key to moving forward.
This got me thinking… so often in life, we are obsessed with the future. We want to manifest the future, we want to plan for the future, and we fantisize about our future. But we can’t get to the future until we acknowledge our past. We need to deeply feel the hurt of not only our past experiences but the past experiences of our lineage.
Sometimes, the only way to move forward is to look back.
I’ve come to realize that running from our past, in this life and the lives of our ancestors, will leave you feeling lost and ungrounded.
The past is not something that can be repressed. It lives in our hearts, our bodies, and the present moment.
If you’re out there running in circles… maybe try looking back.
We have a rearview mirror for a reason, and sometimes looking in the rearview leads us exactly where we need to be.
Keep inspiring,
Nicole
