Trust Me, No One Is Perfect
We must let perfect versions of ourselves and others die so the truth can emerge. ❤
Lately, when I think about people who I really look up to, I’m consciously aware that their life is not perfect.
They are both light and dark. Their life is full of pain and joy. And everyday they face challenges.
As Tony Robbins says, “There’s no such thing as a life without problems, only better problems”.
This has been so healing for me to accept and it helps me feel connected to people of all walks of life. It’s painful for me to feel separated from anyone, even the people I don’t know.
There’s a certain peace and camaraderie that comes when you realize we are all in this together.
Putting people on a pedestal creates unrealistic expectations for our lives. When we assume that others who have more money, beauty or success are living a perfect existence, we create a fantasy. And even if we are placing ANOTHER person as the protagonist of that fantasy, it is a fantasy nonetheless.
I think living in a fantasy world is insulting to the world God created.
God wants us to live in reality and in truth.
God wants us to embrace nature and embrace each other.
God wants us to place Her first, instead of creating false idols.
Some people do access more joy and purpose, and it’s natural to want to strive for that, but to think there is some magical pain-free existence is setting ourselves up to be ungrateful.
How could we NOT be ungrateful when we are comparing our lives to a fantasy?
We must swallow the bitter pill of reality to truly unlock the blessings and magic that are waiting for us.
Perfection, in ourselves and in others, keeps us on a never-ending hamster wheel. Running and running to some dream destination that doesn’t exist.
The dream life is right here, right now.
It will always be right here, right now.
Keep inspiring,
Nicole
