Spiritually Sick: Rediscovering Connection and Direction Through Meditation, Prayer, and Nature

Yesterday in meditation I realized I am “spiritually sick”.

The lack of meditation, prayer, and time in nature was starting to take a serious toll on my spirit.

And without our spirit, we lack connection and direction.

This realization came through loud and clear as the answer to all of my problems.

I’d been searching for worldly things: more attention, more money, more security. But what I really needed was more time with God.

And the funny thing is, I’d been going to church… but I was still spiritually sick.

I was spiritually sick because I had not been connecting to God in my OWN way.

We need structured spiritual practices, but we also need private spiritual practices.

We need those little moments of connection with nature, with ourselves, and with something greater than ourselves.

Without these moments of connection we get lost in television, social media, and worldly games.

We start to think that follower count and money is all that matters.

We start to lose touch with our true nature.

We start to lose touch with OURSELVES.

I knew I had a lot of problems, but I didn’t realize being spiritually sick was one of them.

I think a lot of people walking through the world think they need to change the way they look, change their career, or change where they live, when really, they just need to connect.

Our soul and God are always here to guide us, but we can’t be guided if we’re not connected.

Prayer, meditation, and time in nature open up that channel… and they all cost $0.

Keep inspiring,

Nicole
