Grateful for the Present: Embracing the Miracle of Love in Every Moment
Happy Thanksgiving!
As I reflect on gratitude, I realize that the beauty of life is all around you, trying to reach you at all times. There is a miracle in every single interaction and every single moment, and if we could get out of our heads, our fears of the future, and our dwelling on the past, we could see that.
We are all magnificent beings, miracles standing in front of one another and we could all heal on a deep level by simply acknowledging this.
There is nothing “out there” in another accomplishment, spiritual breakthrough, health breakthrough, friendship, soulmate, or new child. It's all right here, and it's always been right here.
The medicine of the present moment is always trying to bring us everything we need to get to our ultimate desire: love.
Most of us humans are very confused. We are chasing so many different things that ultimately boil down to what we think will bring us love. We are all so consumed with the search for love (the ego loves the search), but we never want to actually find it. We won’t allow ourselves to surrender to the only moment it exists: right now.
Maybe there is pain in the present, maybe there is discomfort, maybe there is boredom. And whatever is waiting for us in the present is always exactly what we need to lean into to bring us closer to love.
The present moment reveals the fastest possible path to everything we could ever want. And yet, our mind clings onto anything and everything it can think of why there is something OUTSIDE of right now that we need.
On this beautiful holiday, let’s all be grateful for the flow of love that is always making its way to us in each moment. And the beautiful process we all go through throughout our lifetime to take down those barriers and let the love in.
Keep inspiring,
Nicole
