The Road to Nowhere: Why Love, Not Ego, Is the True Path to Connection
Every single one of us is a mirror for each other.
Lately, I’ve been acutely aware of this in every moment.
The strings of life that tie me to the rest of humanity seem to dissipating. I feel the Oneness of everyone throughout the day. Sometimes it's beautiful, sometimes it's challenging, and it's always expanding.
From this vantage point, the divisiveness in today’s society is only a reflection of the divisiveness in ourselves. Differences in religion, gender, political views, appearance, socioeconomic status, and age are just excuses our ego brings up to block us from growing closer to ourselves.
That’s the one thing our ego is the most terrified of.
Drawing closer to our essence, drawing closer to love.
Can you imagine if all the time people spent arguing and trying to prove their point was dedicated to loving one another?
It's actually pretty insane the more you think about it. People are SO consumed with proving their rightness, their intellect, or their superiority that they are missing the plot completely.
These people genuinely feel as if they are on a very important mission… but they are on a road to nowhere.
They are running in circles but their ego has put a pair of AI goggles on them and has them convinced they are scaling a mountain.
The ego leads us on an endless road to nowhere. While love leads us back to our true home. ALWAYS. Every time. Without exception.
So why do we fall for it time and time again? Why can’t people stop measuring their lives by ego’s metrics of success? Why do we believe in the separation?
Because the simplicity of love is scary. We don’t want to believe that we will be taken care of. We don’t want to believe that God loves us more than we can ever know. We don’t want to let ourselves be held by community.
We would rather self-isolate and run an endless road to nowhere, all in the name of being special.
But if we only knew how loved we were by God, the need to feel special would go out the window.
True love is the cure, and it's not on the other side of more money, followers or ego boosts. Its on the other side of taking down every single barrier between us and EVERY SINGLE PERSON we’ve ever met. (YES, even that person).
Love is the only way. Taking us on a roller coaster ride to somewhere so epic and beautiful we cannot even conceptualize it.
Keep inspiring,
Nicole
