In Dogs We Trust
SNIFFY!
I run up to my yellow lab (oh so cleverly named for her affinity for sniffing) and start loving on her.
Her entire body shakes as her tail is wagging and she’s crying out of pure overwhelm and excitement.
As I pet and hug her, I can’t help but think to myself, “this is bliss”.
Every moment I have with Sniffy is bliss. (Except when she’s attacking other dogs that is).
And it got me thinking… why can’t I have moments like this with humans?
Imagine if I had loving, blissful connections with the people in my office…
Imagine if I had loving, blissful relationships with my family…
Imagine if I had a loving, blissful relationship with myself…
Sniffy is more than just a dog, she’s a bright shining example of what I want to emulate.
I want to be as forgiving as her.
I want to be as excited as her.
And I want to be as loving as her.
We live in a world where the kindest of our dogs is seen as exceptional.
We can’t imagine having that kind of relationship with a human, so we cherish it deeply with our pets.
But I want things to be different.
I know we can create a world where we bounce for joy every time we see each other.
I know we can create a world where we are forgiving.
I know we can create a world where other humans are our safe haven.
One day at a time we’ll get there. Inch by inch, we will be a little kinder towards ourselves, a little kinder towards others, and a little kinder to those in need.
Before we know it we’ll be shaking with excitement when our co-worker walks into the room!
Keep inspiring,
Nicole
